Application Example: Colpitt
Production of disposable plastic bags
Challenge
Colpitt is a leading developer and manufacturer of specialised medical equipment. The aim of changing the manufacturing process from the production of unique items to a flexible and future-proof modular system was to reduce costs and throughput times.Solution
The NR rotary indexing ring forms the base unit of the modular system. User programmability and the WEISS Application Software are features ensuring high flexibility and easy commissioning. The fact that the bearing and locking mechanisms are on the outside enables the fast and accurate turning of up to seven-metre-large rings with workpiece holders. The large central opening allows for processing stations in a stable and lightweight arch structure.Products in use
