On 7 December 2009, automation specialist WEISS GmbH officially opened its own subsidiary in Asia. Bearing the name "WEISS Asia Automation Components", the newly-founded company based in Singapore will act as a bridge to Asia and support the component and system supplier's activities there. This allows the national markets of China, India, Korea, Taiwan and Japan in particular to be integrated more strongly into the WEISS service network.

The range of products sold in Asia consists of servo-mechanical, directly driven and purely mechanical rotary indexing tables as well as handling systems and axes. Production still takes place in Germany, as "made in Germany" continues to be a powerful trademark in Asia. And this is especially relevant to WEISS as all components are manufactured at the Buchen site in the Odenwald forest in Germany in virtually 100% vertical integration.

WEISS aims to use the Singapore subsidiary to put itself in a better position to meet the specific challenges of the Asian market where the required reaction and production times are more demanding and the level of training of specialist staff is generally lower than in Germany. In future, traders and customers will be provided with information in their national language. On-site warehousing amongst other things will help improve technical and logistical support as well as customer service. An internally developed training and service concept will improve product knowledge and establish the traditional WEISS quality concept in Asia.
